NEW SINGLE: WE ARE LEO

WE ARE LEO is releasing a new album August 30th called "HELLO".  Here's the single LIVE FOR LOVE that's hitting radio right now.  We're super excited for this album to come out as they have been working with producer Ben Kasica, former guitar player for Skillet (not sure if you've ever heard of that band before).  Perfect album to kick-off the school year.

AND THE WINNER IS...

First Christian Church of Leesburg in Leesburg, FL...  Congratulations on getting a free show with our beloved ATTABOY.  Because the show is scheduled for December 4th, we're anticipating Attaboy to break out the sleigh bells.  Wish we could come with and enjoy the warm weather.  Feliz Navidad.

Big Ticket Festival: On the Move

Big Ticket Festival, typically held in Gaylord, Michigan, took a perma roadtrip down to Ionia this year. Unlike most of the attendees, I got to experience the behind the scenes atmosphere with a lot of the artists, road managers & Big Ticket volunteers. I work in the music industry full-time and have had such an encouraging experience over the years. It's one thing to watch a live show or be lead in worship by someone, but to interact with them on a social level behind the scenese, you really get to see the true colors of a person.

Despite the down pouring rains, muddy grounds & lack of sleep, everyone was still looking towards one goal throughout the entire weekend.  The scripture Philippians 3:14 comes to mind when thinking about the goal everyone involved with this festival was pressing towards; "I will press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."  Fixing our eyes & hearts on Christ was the center of Big Ticket Festival, making it a goal for every attendee & volunteer that walked through the gate to gain that same perspective. The move to Ionia made a huge impact on the attendance of the festival.  The festival had a 30% growth in attendance this year. Knowing that the festival's owner isn't looking at a jump in attendance as a jump in his wallet, but that he's looking at winning the souls for the kingdom of God, makes joy overflow within me knowing that 30% more of God's people were ministered to through the bands, prayer tents & speakers at this years Big Ticket Festival in Ionia.  My prayer for the bands & speakers that are traveling, promoters putting on festivals & shows constantly, worship leaders & Christians everywhere is that we would fix our eyes on the prize & that we'd look to Jesus in everything we do.

New Album: Jetty Rae- "La La Lu & the Lazy Moon"

There's nothing quite like seeing a friend turned into a cartoon.  I couldn't help but post these incredible illustrations from Jetty Rae's newest album, "La La Lu & the Lazy Moon". Last week she released this album on iTunes– here are a few of our favorite pics created by Kevin White.  There's already been a lot of buzz about this project, including a great interview with Jetty on OurStage's website. Great work Jetty!

Heath McNease: Free Nintendo MixTape

Growing up in El Paso in the late 80's, the nostalgic memories of my childhood are completely intertwined with the 8-bit Nintendo system.  I remember once getting grounded from video games when my mom saw that I developed a callus from hitting the A and B buttons to hard.  Flash forward two decades later and Heath McNease is bringing back those memories through his free mixtape, "Straight out of Console".  This is Heath McNease at his best, lyrically sailing in open Nintendo waters.

My favorite bit on this mixtape is from "MMM...Donuts!", where Heath challenges believers to lighten up a bit and not be so Ned Flanders (Homer Simpsons' churchy neighbor); yet at the same time, Heath full-on stakes his claim to be a Christian and does it unapologetically.
